Excellent product December 6, 2008 I installed this bath rail per directions and it has stayed put for a month now. It gives me more stability when showering, either by holding on to it, or just by leaning against it. I got it for knee surgery, and will keep it installed. It's not in the way at all, and even looks nice.
very useful and sturdy December 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We have this in our shower and have been using it for about 6 months. It works great and we have only had to re-suction it to the wall once. It's very handy for getting in and out or for balancing while shaving.
Doesn't stay on the wall for very long... October 14, 2008 I purchased this as a rail for my mother to hold onto while in the shower to help her balance herself. I followed the instructions that came with the product and it worked great! For about 4 hours... Then in the middle of the night there was a loud crash as the bar fell off the inside of the shower wall. I tried again the following day and again after 4 or 5 hours it was laying in the bottom of the tub.
I am in need of something that will stay suctioned to the wall and doesn't need to be placed each time it is being used. Her shower is an insert and can't be drilled into to add a bar.
Good idea but not a permanent or even semi permanent solution.
Would give zero stars if possible October 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My son installed this on my tiled bathtub wall for me, grasped the bar and leaned his weight back on it, and it broke in two immediately. I have severe osteoporosis, and if that had happened to me I would likely have broken something, so we are actually grateful if it was going to break it did it then. However, I would not recommend this product to anyone to whom safety and security are important.
Beyond disappointing -- DANGEROUS September 27, 2008 I bought the shower version of the suction cup rail; it is a little shorter. It worked fine the first week I used it, at a resort in Williamsburg. Since then, at a second hotel and at home, it has failed to hold onto the tile, even though I carefully followed the instructions on mounting it. It comes off the wall with very little pressure and I am lucky I did not fall on the floor and suffer serious injury. BE VERY CAREFUL USING THIS PRODUCT. IN FACT, I NO LONGER USE IT AT ALL. It is a lesson luckily learned before I was injured . . . or killed.
