Product Description This tool is a great device for use by people who have difficulty bending or reaching, or who are confined to a wheelchair. The unique patented locking feature gives the user the ability to seize objects normally out of reach and to hold them firmly without maintaining pressure on the trigger. 30", lite weight.

Must Have Item!! October 21, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a person on bed rest, this tool has allowed for picking up items from light items to medium weight items, such as a half filled basket, and full bottle of lotion. The locking feature eases fatigue from holding the reacher too long, and is easy to release. My father has one for outside yard work, for picking up sticks, etc. Thank you.
Can't live without it! May 23, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
As a handicapped person in a chair I depend on my E-Z Reachers for many different tasks. They allow me to remain independent....I have one in almost every room.
I've tried the other brands out there and the E Z Reacher is far superior to the others. It is durable and will handle more weight than the others while gripping almost any object. So many uses for this handy arm extension. Unloading my dishwasher, getting dishes down for meals. I can pick up the numerous things I drop, do laundry, pick up fairly heavy things in my garage, etc.
There are several different models that aren't shown here on Amazon and they all do something a little different. I would suggest that Amazon show more of the reachers available and then the buyers need to fit the Reacher for their needs. They will have a much more successful experience.
Yes, I have broken off my rubber grippers, but they can be replaced for a nominal fee. One has to expect that things do wear out and need fixing, especially if the Reacher was used for something that it wasn't designed to do. However, my Reachers withstand a lot of abuse before they fail. I have driven over the Reacher with my chair and it survived and is still working.
Get the correct Reacher for the job and then let it do the work it was designed to do. It isn't as good as the arms and hands that God gave us, but it certainly is a very helpful tool for our daily living.
Very Handy May 9, 2006 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
THid type of reacher is best for changing light bulbs in the ceiling without having to carry a step ladder up and down the stairs. Nor good at all for changing flourescents tubes or rings. You need the ladder for them. Most use will be for picking up thin pieces of paper or those pesky plastic popcorns and chunks of foam that fall out of packing boxes. Anything heavier than a pound will slip out. In other words, the suction cups suck.! :oO You can use the other flat dinosaur-looking patterns for heavier items, but the best for medium-heavy objects are the kind used in the mom and pop grocery stores when I was a kid on the forties. But those are long and unhandy and need two hands. And they aren't much good for picking up more than the usual quarto hard back of 200 pages or less. We need something with big flat jaws and compound action with a locking device to pick up books. How about it fellows? Invent one.
