I've been using this pad for years, and it is a fabulous product. I often have neck stiffness and headaches in the morning, and for all but the worst bouts 20 minutes with this makes me good as new. I do find, however, that with regular use it needs to be replaced every year. While it will still get hot, there won't be as much moisture, and the smell will become more noticeable and begin to cling to clothes. Time to replace! I've tried other, similar brands, but this one is the best at holding the heat.
Excellent for heat pad December 18, 2008
This is an Excellent heating pad that heats within the minute and a half as advertised but the cooling aspect isn't the best I've had. Seems that the beads just don't absorb the cold as well as they do the heat. As a result, I use it for heating and another for the "Icing" effects. Good buy tho, and a good deal as the quality is very high.

This theraband is awesome. It heats up quickly and provides relief for my arthritic joints. Easy to pop in the micro and plot on sore joints. I've had mine for a little over a month and have used it almost daily. Still going storng. Knocked off a star for the scent.It would be ideal to add some lavendar or another natural yet pleasant scent as opposed to the beany aroma.

We've tried other heating pads, but they smell really bad after a couple months. It could be that we overheated them, but we haven't been able to overheat this one. It doesn't smell at all. I believe the material that is inside this one is different from the others.

Best for muscle sprains and muscle tensions in neck after long hours of work.
Recommend to those with stift back or neck. Provides relief to muscles without dehytrating them. Since it's microwaveable.. very convinient to use.
