| Customer Reviews:
So much lighter than a regular wheelchair July 23, 2008 We have one of these chairs and love it. It weighs about half of what a normal wheelchair weighs, and is perfect for keeping in the trunk and using on the spur of the moment. The chair is comfortable (although a cushion on the seat will work wonders), and seems solid and sturdy enough for long term use. I've had my chair for three years of several times a week use, and it still looks and works like new. It's nice because my teenaged daughter can take me for a ride in the car, and can easily handle the chair -- it's not too heavy at all for her, and she's a very slight, small young woman.
Of course, the chair isn't a regular wheelchair and has some differences. The biggest difference is in the tiny little wheels. The person in the chair is unable to move themselves as if in a regular wheelchair because you cannot reach the wheels to propel yourself. But, if you have some use of your feet, you can "walk" it along for short distances. It also meant for smooth pavement or indoor flooring surfaces, not over rough terrain.
I love this chair and recommend it highly. Amazon sells it for a very good price (compare it to other retailers and you'll see what I mean). The chair itself has proven to be a lot more convenient to me than a normal wheelchair, and I get to go out a lot more because we have it.
