Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The paint and welding on this aluminum chair are fantastic!   November 18, 2008
As wonderful as this chair is, Dawn at Affordable Medical was great. Talk about customer service, I called three times because I had questions. Just click on the company name and you'll find people, thanks Dawn. The chair is perfect. Most wheelchairs are a standard 18 inches, this is 19 inches, and feels even roomier due to no side panels, they aren't needed, no big rear wheel to rub clothing. If they wanted to improve it all I can imagine is adding brakes for the attendant. The brake locks on the rear wheels are very nicely engineered. There is also a toe kick to tilt the chair and rider, nice touch. The fit and finish are impeccable, welding smooth and paint delicious. The swingaway footrests come off or you may leave them on for stowing in the trunk or van, easy either way. It really does weigh only 14 and a half pounds, one fourth the weight of a standard wheelchair. What else can I say except you'll like it too I'm guessing. Oh yeah, there are three pockets, one for a check book size wallet, one for a cell phone, one mesh bag for a handful of stuff, and then there is a caribiner to hold onto your keys securely, it's inside the largest velcro-ed pocket. Legs adjust up and down with the included allen wrench. There is a larger allen wrench for other adjustments and one nut type multi-wrench. I did adjust the foot rests to fit Naida's leg length. That's it, the maroon metal flake is pretty. One thing that surprised me is the handles pull up and lock in place but I doubt you'll collapse it back down unless you store the chair in the original box like I do. The box even has a top handle. The Fedex guy used it and so do I. Thanks Medline, Dawn, and Fedex guy, talk about fast less than 48 hour standard delivery, maybe the stars were in perfect alignment? PS Didn't mean to write a book, but there is this nice cupholder that attaches to the arm upright and secures with a bolt and hand knob. There is no kitchen sink though...

5 out of 5 stars This Transport Chair is GREAT!   October 16, 2007
It would take my mom, who is in her mid 70s and me to lift my dad's wheelchair into the back of my SUV. It was heavy and took up a great deal of space and was so bulky to handle. We hated having to use it and sometimes resorted to the old, broken up wheelchairs at the various department stores. Then I found the Super Light Weight Transport/Wheel Chair on Amazon.com. It weights about 14 or 14.5 lbs., but is very sturdy and durable. It folds up nicely, I put in the car or SUV with ease and it doesn't take much room. The cup holder came in real handy and so did the water bottle holder and key chain tab. My mother and I love it and don't know how we managed before we got this chair. It is just fantastic!
