heavy duty July 24, 2008 I use this cane when I go hiking. Its most important features are its heavy duty construction and its low price. Most of the telescoping walking sticks available at sporting goods stores are more expensive and much too flimsy. I've seen them literally fold in half when leaned on. On the other hand, Superman couldn't bend the medline bariatric cane, which can support several hundred pounds. And, incidentally, it packs a whollop like a baseball bat.
I wanted a sturdy cane! January 10, 2008 I wanted a sturdy cane, and this is it! I didn't know what "bariatric" meant, so I looked it up. My weight is under 50% of the load limit of this baby.
Solid and sturdy walking aide. October 27, 2007 I ordered this cane shortly after I had a knee surgery. I should have ordered it earlier. It has been very helpful in my recovery.
The cane itself is very sturdy and solid. I am a large guy, about 300 lbs, so I needed something a little stronger than normal. It is a little bit weighty itself, but that was easy to get used to. I recommend this to anyone who needs a cane and has strong wrists.
Heavy duty and heavy March 8, 2007 It's a cane...there's not a lot you can say about function. It feels solid when I lean on it. The adjustability is fine, and the handle is comfortable for my large hands. The rubber tip is holding up well after two weeks of use, but the finish is already getting very chipped along the "bend", apparently from being leaned against things when I'm sitting. It's heavy, so if your wrists are weak and you don't need the heavy-duty aspect, you may want to consider something lighter.
I do wish I'd purchased it on Amazon, though -- mine cost me twice as much at a medical supplier.
LJ's review January 14, 2007 The Medline Bariatric Cane that I orderd has helped me so much getting around with my bad knees. It is heavyduty and very well built. Thanks Medline.
